Costume: Tight fitted jacket and trousers, with coloured patches sewn on.
History: He was most probably created in France in the late 16th Century.
Mask: Small round eyes, wart on forehead, almond shaped eyes.
Props: carries his batocchio, meaning in Italian ‘clapper inside the bell,’ It is 2 thin pieces of wood, that kept apart at the handle and clap together when moved.
Stance: Low to the floor, elbows bent, usually in a jug-handle position.
Walk: Arlechinno walks in threes, he has a tip-toe like walk.
Movements: When Arlechinno sees someone, he moves his mask first, and then turns his body. It is a nimble and quick turn of the head.
Speech: Speaks either extremely fast or does not talk at all.
